Internship Description

The objective of the GPL Internship Programme is to assist graduates and people with qualifications to obtain workplace experience and for the GPL to contribute to the upskilling of individuals as per the Skills Development Act.

The duration of the GPL’s Internship programme is a 24-month fixed-term contract with a R 7000 Monthly Stipend.

The GPL has Internship opportunities in the following Business Areas:

Communication Interns

National Diploma or B-Degree in one of the following Areas:

  • Media Studies,
  • Communication Science,
  • Graphic Design
  • Public Relations,

Transversal Mainstreaming Interns

National Diploma or B-Degree in one of the following Areas:

  • Commerce,
  • Public Finance and Administration
  • Gender, Disability or Youth Studies related disciplines

Gauteng Speakers Forum Interns

National Diploma or B-Degree in one of the following Areas:

  • Law,
  • Political Sciences,
  • Finance / Accounting,
  • Public Administration

Sport and Recreation Interns

National Diploma or B-Degree in one of the following Areas:

  • Sports,
  • Sports Management,
  • Sports Coaching,
  • Recreation and Exercise Science
  • or any other relevant qualification.

Requirements:

  • Must have the relevant qualification
  • Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • Applicant must be between the age of 18-35.
  • Must have no previous criminal convictions or pending cases.
  • Applicants must never have been employed in the field of the advertised post before and never participated in an Internship Programme.
  • It remains the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
  • Applicants are restricted to applying for only three positions that are most suitable to their qualification(s) and must submit a separate email per application with the post reference number as Subject.
