Internship Description

As a Data Scientist you will analyze complex datasets, generate insights, and develop data-driven solutions to enhance business decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.

Location: Johannesburg and Cape Town

Responsibilities

• Ability to Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of simple complexity.
• Solving simple bug fixes.
• Assisted senior-level engineers, implemented development processes, adhered to coding best practices, and participated in code reviews to achieve success.
• Assisting in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Solving basic technical issues as necessary.
• Researching and implementing new data science techniques and technologies to improve processes.
• Basic oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s in: Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Display knowledge of data storage subsystems.
• Have knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Maintain knowledge of data manipulation languages.
• Have an understanding of data modelling principles.
• Understand applicable development languages Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net.
