Internship Description
As part of the firm’s growth, Genesis welcomes cohorts of young talent each year. Candidates may be newly or recently qualified graduates, as well as early career professionals, who aim to do meaningful work to bring about positive change and development. Successful candidates join as young professionals from the commencement of employment.
Our Africa round focuses on students studying at African universities and those that follow a Southern Hemisphere academic calendar. We place emphasis on those who are citizens of and studying at universities in South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Kenya, however, we welcome all talent to apply as we recruit across the continent. In addition to the regional focus, we are keen to welcome talent from Francophone and Lusophone countries.

Responsibilities:
You will work with Genesis colleagues in teams to help our clients unlock and realise value. In each project, you will be involved in responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Performing rigorous analysis of data using both conceptual and quantitative approaches
- Applying specialist thinking and logic to problem-solving
- Preparing clearly thought-out and logically written documentation
- Performing relevant research related to projects to source required data
- Cleaning data to make it project-specific and relevant
- Vetting information to ensure accuracy
- Client interaction and negotiation
- Building intellectual capacity and property.
Requirements:
Postgraduate degrees in:
- Economics or its variant disciplines,
- Data Science,
- Development Studies,
- International Development,
- Public Policy,
- Policy Evaluation,
- Public Health (Epidemiology),
- Health Economics,
- Behavioural Science,
- PPE,
- Sustainability,
- Climate Change,
- Global Studies,
- Programme Evaluation
NB. Master’s degrees in any of the above will be advantageous
Skills and Competencies:
- Leadership potential, and the capability to lead and manage projects
- Ability to solve problems through clear thinking, with strong qualitative and quantitative analysis
- Strong communication, writing and presentation skills in English
