Graduate Programme Description
The FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint Graduate Trainees as part of the Graduate Recruitment Programme. This is a structured programme specifically designed to produce a pipeline of competent trainee entrants to the labour market. The duration of the programme is twelve (12) months.
Roll out of the Programme: Recommended candidates will be given an opportunity to learn under a dedicated mentor. Graduates will be assigned to various Departments, based on their qualifications and aspirations, and exposed to various competency-based training during the duration of the twelve-month programme.

- Exposure to working in a target-driven environment on complaints received by the public against financial service providers and to move same towards a resolution in a procedurally fair, informal, economical and expeditious manner.
- Working in a team of experienced lawyers, financial planners (s), Investigators and negotiators.
- Training on the financial planning process, insurance, investments, retirement planning, financial services legislation and drafting.
Requirements:
- LLB / Law degree.
- South African citizen with a valid South African Identity document.
- Passion for public service and an interest/desire to work in the Financial Sector.
- Strong academic background and good drafting skills.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment, willing to learn and work extra hours.
- Energetic, self-driven and deadline-driven.
- Must be computer literate.
- PLT (Practical Legal Training) will be an advantage.
