Internship Description
The Gauteng Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment (GDARDE) offers an Internship Programme and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunity to unemployed graduates or students that require Experiential Training to apply in the fields that align with the Departmental business.
The Department is therefore inviting applications for the Internship Programme and Work Integrated Learning (WIL), which run for 24 and 12 months, respectively.
NB. Successful candidates for an Internship position will be expected to sign an Internship Agreement, and they will receive a monthly allowance or spending, which will determine the exit level of their qualifications. Applicants considered for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) voluntarily will be expected to sign an indemnity form.
Please note: Applicants:
- Must be between the ages of 18-35 years,
- Must be a South African citizen;
- Unemployed graduates who have never participated in an internship programme or students who require Experimental Training to complete their qualifications.

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Opportunities
- Category 1: Applicants who have completed the theoretical part of their qualification can apply for an internship position by using the relevant indicated reference number above. However, should the application be unsuccessful, it will be considered for WIL voluntarily.
- Category 2: Applicants who are still in the process of completing their theoretical part of the qualification and who would want to perform voluntary services to meet the requirements of their qualifications before 31 March 2024 must apply for WIL voluntarily with reference number WIL2023 below.
